Your baby’s safety and comfort are always my highest priority during every newborn session. Sessions are completely baby-led, allowing plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, settling, and breaks whenever needed, with no pressure to rush your baby into poses they are uncomfortable with. Throughout the session I am constantly monitoring your baby’s circulation, temperature, positioning, and airways to ensure they remain safe, comfortable, and content at all times.

I have completed specialised newborn safety training and continue to invest in ongoing education to ensure every pose, workflow, and setup is carried out as safely as possible using current newborn photography safety practices. Babies are never left unattended, and for certain overhead or advanced poses I may ask a parent to stay close by as a spotter while I photograph safely above them, with my camera strap securely around my neck at all times. Many popular newborn images are created as composite photographs, meaning your baby is fully supported throughout and the final image is carefully edited together afterwards for safety.

All wraps, blankets, props, and fabrics are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between sessions, and hand washing and hygiene are extremely important in my studio. The studio is kept warm and comfortable for newborns, and every prop used is carefully selected with stability and safety in mind.

With years of experience photographing newborns, alongside being a mother myself, I understand just how precious and delicate these early days are. My approach is always gentle, patient, and led by your baby, ensuring they are cared for with the same attention and love I would want for my own children.
